Hi, I’m Jess.
Welcome to my site where my aim is to encourage you to live your best life. With homeware and fashion, I aim to inspire; to self-care tips and my reviews on my fave current reads. I want this to be your cosy space.
I’ve done many things in my life so far, but the one thing that has always been consistent is my writing. Ever since I’ve been able to write, I’ve kept diaries. Anyone else remember those Jacqueline Wilson diaries?? Yup. I had one every year. I’ve definitely still got them somewhere too…Anyways, I was always one to document. If I wasn’t writing my diary, I was cutting and sticking into my notepad, making pretend magazines with my friends. We thought we were so cool.
5 years later…
I’ve completed college (studying a range of creative A levels from Film studies, Media comms to English lit and lang) and also bagged myself a 2:1 (Hons) degree in Publishing Media. Can you see a pattern trending??
After landing my dream job at a REAL magazine, I decided to setup my own blog. I needed an outlet for myself, a place to document once again since the diaries stopped when I was 17 (one day I will share these!) And thus, jesscantoni.com was born! In its early days, I mainly chatted about what I was cooking that night. It was primarily food based and purely for the enjoyment of sharing!
Following my other dream
Life takes its own twists and turns and I ended leaving that job, moving on to, I won’t say better things as I did love that job, but different things. My partner (now husband!) and I moved to Canterbury and I was sort of at a loss at what to do. I’d always had a burning passion to bake and so when the opportunity arose, I took one leap of faith and enrolled at probably one of the finest cooking schools in the world: Le Cordon Bleu in London. I have the fondest memories from studying there and learnt so, so much! I feel very lucky to have been able to do the one thing I’d always dreamed of doing.
A year later and I married my best friend. We had the most spectacular day down in Cornwall, as well as a second ceremony in Italy a month later. Two days I will cherish forever! A move back to Gloucestershire, where I’m currently living now made me super happy as I love it here, but I was sort of at a point where I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I tried working in a hotel as a pastry chef and It 100% wasn’t for me.
Skipping ahead another two years and here I am, doing something that I never thought I would do for a living. I’ve finally been able to merge all my passions into one: sharing, cooking and writing.
I share all things food and travel over on my site Jess Eats and Travels, of which I encourage you all to go and check out!
After a huge makeover as well as a move over to WordPress, Jesscantoni.com is now the place where I share:
