‘Tis the season for tags it seems! I bloody love doing them though, so it’s all good! Thanks again to the amazing Abbie from What Abbie Says for starting this one off again! I’m a HUGE fan of Autumn and despite the warmer weather, today is looking very much like Autumn… a bit dreary, colder… the perfect time to write this post.
The Autumn Tag!
- What signifies the start of Autumn for you?
Definitely when Starbucks start selling the iconic PSL (pumpkin spice latte). That usually happens around the end of September I think, so rather early but it does get me excited! By then I’m more than happy to wave goodbye to summer and bring on the cooler weather! Not been so lucky this year have I! Haha.
2. What is your favourite Autumn scent?
Ooh that’s a toughie. This time of year you’ll usually find me burning my pumpkin spice candles (tad obsessed), so probably that. I love gingerbread but I associate it more with Christmas.
3. What is your favourite Autumn colour?
Orange of course! Also lots of bright colours! I’ve bought a couple of rainbow jumpers this season and I’m loving them, but burnt orange is definitely the epitome of Autumn colours.
4. Are you a fan of PSL’s (pumpkin spice lattes)?
YES! See above 🙂
5. What is your favourite Autumn drink?
Well PSL is definitely up there! I wanted to try Starbuck’s Maple Latte last weekend but my Starbucks were out! Could become my new fave, you never know…
 6. What’s your favourite coffee shop and their drink of choice?
Oooh I don’t visit many coffee shops these days but I’d say Starbucks for their (can you guess it?) PSL; Costa for their hot choc (the Lindt one is yum!) and gingerbread lattes and there are lots of local ones I enjoy too! If you’re in the Stroud area, Coffee 1’s honeycomb hot chocolate is something else!
7. Apple pie or pumpkin pie?
For sure apple pie! As much as I love PSL’s, I don’t like the texture of pumpkin pie.
8. What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to in the next few months?
I’m not a huge TV watcher to be honest. I’m really enjoying Strictly this year (faves are Joe and Stacey) and I’ve also got into watching American Housewife – it’s hilarious – worth a watch! Oh and of course Bake Off!!
9. What is your favourite Autumn fashion trend?
I want to say a nice cashmere scarf but I’m still waiting for the cooler weather to come out to wear mine! A pair of black ankle boots are also a necessity. Bring out the black tights too!
10. What’s your favourite comfort food to enjoy in the colder months?
Sausage and mash with onion gravy is the ultimate comfort. A roast dinner also goes down well at this time of year!
11. What’s your favourite Autumn activity?
I want to say pumpkin picking but I’m still yet to do this!! Maybe next year I’ll get round to it. Autumn walks through crunchy leaves are always enjoyable though.
12. Are you a fan of horror movies?
NOPE. I can’t watch them. Okay, so maybe i’ll watch a ghostly horror but anything psychological will see me switching over!
13. Do you ever do anything fun for halloween?
At uni I used to dress up and go to halloween house parties (see some awful photos below haha) They were the days! I want the excuse to go trick or treating and decorate the house all spooky. Perhaps next year when baba arrives, I’ll do something nice. I’m sure when our baby grows older, i’ll go all out and host my own halloween party. For now it’s usually an evening in with sweets! This year we’re planning on watching Hocus Pocus for the first time!
These were taken during my second year of uni. The first is with my ex-housemate of two years, the lovely Amy. We both went as cats, naturally.Â
Drinking wine on the way to house parties was the done thing, ha. Here’s me and my good friend and also ex-housemate of two years, Tom; a friend of Amy’s and of course Fabio as some freaky voodoo guy!
14. What was your favourite thing about halloween as a child?
Dressing up and of course trick or treating! My friends and I would go around the same route every year. We knew this route would make us highly successful in getting sweets!! We’d all tip them out at one of our houses after and compare/swap and count our loot!
15. Are you a fan of bonfire night or halloween?
Yes to both! I think I’ve said enough on halloween and you get the gist. Bonfire night however is another one of my fave times of year. I just love the fact that it’s colder and you can go out with your scarf and big winter coat; go visit your local firework display and eat yummy sausages in a roll with onions!
16. What’s your dream destination to visit in Autumn?
I’d love to visit the US or Canada at this time of year, for of course the large expanse of trees and fallen leaves. Americans go BIG on halloween and so a trip to some of their stores to hunt for decs would be amazing. A trip to Salem would be appropriate too!
17. Do you also forget about the clocks going back?
Yes! Usually I remember because someone posted something online about it.. or my parents remind me!
18. When do you usually start preparing for Christmas?
September… (hides!).. I have to start early this year as I know when I get a lot bigger from being pregnant, I may not have the energy to go out present-hunting! I’m also hosting my parents this year, so I need to be organised for that. It’s something l love doing though so it’s not a chore for me at all.
I’m going to tag these lovelies….

Happy October to you all!
